We created 11 1m light up numbers, all free standing and wireless!

We constructed the eye catching numbers from exterior ply wood, primered and top coat spray painted white.

We installed warm retro led light bulbs. The numbers are all connected to high capacity re-chargeable batteries giving our client more freedom with positioning + no cable trip hazards! Project was custom made and delivered to our client in Surrey.

The illuminated  numbers are available to hire by our client here www.lightyearshire.co.uk or contact  directly at  info@lightyearshire.co.uk

Comment from our client:

I will send you photos once they are being used at different functions!

 Thanks again,

Sharon

We had a great time being  involved in Truro’s play  fest 2015 (part of National Playday) held at Boscawen park Truro.

The Event was hosted and organized  by Kernow live with support from Swamp Circus

The 2 day fun festival featured many fun activities ranging from  bouncy castles, art & craft workshops,  face painting  &  a variety of entertainment with  live music from a children band, dance groups, circus performers,  along with lost  of fun across the green Zone.

We displayed some of our surreal scaled up props as a fun photo opportunity for people of all ages and  families attending.

Despite the cloudy first day it was a good turnout. The second day was filled with sunshine and a great atmosphere through out.

The fun and creative event was a great  success, it is thought that around 5,000 people attended the attraction at Boscawen park Truro Cornwall.

Check out one of our recent projects!

We created a giant bull which was used as EE’s charging bull at Glastonbury 2015!

We were commissioned by Presentation Design Services to create the bull. The sculpture had to be water- proof, extremely durable and friendly looking. We worked closely together with PDS  according to their details to create the right bull they envisioned to be the EE Charging Bull at world famous music and contemporary performing arts festival Glastonbury.
The bull was hand carved out of high density polystyrene. Steel rods inserted within the tail  for extra strength and timber blocks within hoofs for installation system. As the sculpture had to be weather proof we applied flexible coating polyurea and primered in order to prepare for a paintable surface.
Final finish was completed by PDS to  their clients  specification.
We are very proud to have completed this project at a very tight time schedule and have completed within a week! Just in  time for our client  to apply final finish.

Our giant trainer at Race for Life 2015

Our giant trainer at Race for life campaign

It was great to have been involved at Race for life 2015!
Cancer re-search used our giant trainer as an eye catching prop to help raise awareness of Race for life events amongst women of all ages. You can also help this wonderful cause by keeping fit to help raise the much needed funds for Cancer re-search UK.

Kind words  from: Nicola Doherty  Cancer Research UK

I just wanted to Thank You greatly for the use of the trainer, as I mentioned it has really helped us recruit our target of 63,000 women in the region to take part in Race for Life which helps raise £3m for Cancer Research UK. The trainer brought a lot of delight to young and old alike when we were out on the streets of Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire. We used it every week and we would love to work with ICA Creation again in the future!

Giant tariner at Race for life

Outdoor advertising can be fun!

Outdoor advertising tool - giant hand
Outdoor advertising tool – giant hand

Recently we have created a great ‘artvertising’ tool measuring at 5m in length!

The idea behind the concept was to create a giant surreal item and to combine advertising in a unique and fun way.

The giant hand had to be proportional! whilst being weather proof and most importantly safely installed  on to our 6m trailer.

Hand carved, coated with polyurea and airbrushed to create a realistic effect.

What ever you wish to publicize, spread the word for your event, raise awareness with our giant hand you will be sure to be noticed and to not be forgotten. Create a great talking point and advertise with us. For more details and to book get in touch info@ica-creation.sps-creativedesign.co.uk

Elsa from Frozen, scaled up model in the making!

Check out images of how we  scaled up a miniature  version of Elsa, to create a life size model measuring at 1.50m in height!

First step was to accurately measure the miniature model. We cut the main shape out of High density polystyrene. We carved the model according to images + miniature model. We positioned her head more up right in order to create better photo opportunity for the future.

Because of her posture, we fitted a stainless steel pin in to her arm. After sanding all imperfections, we spray applied FR hard coating polyurethane. This high tech application will ensure the model will be durable and waterproof.

As we felt that her hand was slightly too big and bulky after hard coating, we made some modifications to her hand. We scaled the hand down, fitted a stainless steel pin in her finger to give strength to the more delicate looking hand!

The next stage, painting and airbrush decoration!

After sanding the model for a smooth texture, we painted and airbrushed the model with HQ 2K Paints. Added some shading to her hair to give it some more depth and texture. We also lightly airbrushed her skin, to make her look more natural!

We are excited to share with you our latest revelations!

We have collaborated with Something borrowed  wed and hire to create approx  1m high light  up letters

Spelling L O V  E  Lianne Heyward founder  of Something Borrowed Wedding Hire Co came to us with the idea to make a statement piece to add the wow factor to any event.

So together we created the love lights, made from  9mm exterior  wood hand crafted to precision, painted to a brilliant glossy white. The love lights have led fairground lights installed  which give a magical effect with its reflections sparkling.

Each letter is battery powered with a long life to enable practicality at events and give much more freedom to position the letters in the desired suitable place.

If you are looking to brighten up your event, spread the love at  your venue and  inspire with light up letters  then this is definitely something for you!

Bespoke Winter Wonderland Creations

custom made snowmen props

Custom made Giant Stack of presents made out of wood
Giant stack of presents

Maybe for some people the mention of Christmas in August is too early!

But for event organizers for attractions and great organizations holding a Christmas party, for people who simply love everything about Christmas it is possibly never too early!

That’s why we are writing this blog in the summer( although it’s becoming quite cold! ) to share with you the bespoke creations we custom-made for our client during the last festive season.

We made the props to be used at Retallack  Resort & Spas Winter Wonderland here in  stunning  Cornwall.

The brief was to make props which will  help create a magical setting, but they also had to be user-friendly and by this we mean durable, friendly looking, plenty of contact with the Winter wonderland guests and children and great for a photo opportunity.

Because after all Christmas is about the children in all of us! So the items we made couldn’t be too fragile to touch or be closed off. They had  to be fun, unique and made to last.

So what did we make?

We made some playful penguins, different sized snowmen which looked like the sweetest snowmen family in town! A giant  stack of presents and we made the all important sleigh for Santa as he had to fly down to the winter wonderland to give presents to all of the children, who couldn’t wait to see him + we know he was the real Santa because we also visited and our youngest 4-year-old daughter said so!
